Accessible Wizard for Office 2007

This all new version of the Accessible Wizard utilizes an all new approach to making your Microsoft Word 2007 documents more accessible than ever! The Wizard 2007 is for fixing problems within your Office document/presentation itself, and does not export your document to HTML.

Download and Installation

The Accessible Wizard for Office 2007 is a free tool to all University of Illinois faculty and staff. It can be downloaded through the software distribution center at each campus. A free demo version can be dowloaded at http://www.virtual508.com. Follow the steps below to download and install the Wizard to your system.

  1. Download the Wizard from the webstore or from http://www.virtual508.com
  2. Close all Microsoft Office applications.
  3. Open the downloaded file to begin installation

Upon installation of the Accessible Wizard for Office 2007, two buttons in a new ribbon will appear on the "Home" tab at the top of your Word 2007 and Powerpoint 2007 applications.

.NET Framework

Finding .NET FrameworkThe Accessible Wizard for Office 2007 requires the .NET Framework 3.5 and Visual Studio Tools for Office 3.0. These components will be automatically installed if they are not already installed on your computer. You may be required to reboot your computer one time to facilitate the installation of these components.

Checking for .NET installation in Windows XP:

  1. Go to the Start Menu
  2. Select "Control Panel"
  3. Select "Add/Remove Programs"
  4. Look for "Microsoft .NET Framework x.x" (x.x will be the version number)

Uninstalling Previous Versions

Prior to installing or upgrading to a new version of the Accessibility Wizard, remove all earlier versions of the software through the Add/Remove programs options. The Wizard is listed as OFFICE EXPORT WIZARD ADDIN in the add/remove programs list. After uninstalling an older version of the Wizard, be sure to reboot your computer.

If you have trouble with uninstalling, please contact Virtual 508 at wizard@virtual508.com. Some older versions are not compatible with the new installation program. We have a script that can be emailed to you to resolve this issue.
